Job Summary:
We’re looking for reliable event casuals to support retail operations at major cycling events, including the Cape Town Cycle Tour and ABSA Cape Epic. This role involves a mix of customer-facing sales and behind-the-scenes stock support in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates are calm under pressure, able to follow instructions, and comfortable switching between sales, changing room assistance, and stock replenishment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with retail sales on the floor, including customer support and changing room assistance
- Support stock replenishment by ensuring clothing rails and shelves remain full during peak periods
- Assist with receiving, organising and preparing stock in the stock room for floor replenishment
- Follow instructions from floor leads and supervisors to support smooth event operations
- Help maintain a tidy, well-organised retail space throughout the event
Requirements:
- Availability to assist with event setup pre event
- Availability to work event days for the Cape Town Cycle Tour and ABSA Cape Epic
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure event environment
- Willingness to rotate between sales, stock assistance and back-of-house support as needed
- Comfortable taking direction and working as part of a team
- Physically able to stand for long periods and handle stock movement
Skills:
- Clear and confident communication
- Calm, focused and efficient under pressure
- Basic retail or sales experience (advantageous)
- Stock handling or replenishment experience (advantageous)
- Passion for cycling and interest in cycling apparel (nice to have)
