Job Summary
Role Overview The Event Manager/Coordinator is responsible for conceptualising, planning, and executing all private, corporate, and in-house events at this Urban Chic Hotel. From intimate celebrations to large-scale rooftop functions, you will ensure each event reflects our brand’s style and meets the highest standards of service and hospitality. This role has a strong focus on business development ; actively growing the hotel’s events portfolio through proactive outreach, networking, and corporate client acquisition. Key Responsibilities Event Planning & Coordination Plan; design, and execute events from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up. Conduct detailed needs assessments with clients to understand objectives, style, and budget. Create detailed event proposals, floor plans, and timelines. Coordinate internal departments to ensure flawless delivery. Business Development & Sales Proactively seek out new events and corporate business through cold calls, site visits, networking, and industry events. Build and maintain a database of prospective and existing corporate clients. Develop tailored proposals and packages for corporate functions, product launches, and conferences. Negotiate contracts, packages, and rates to maximise profitability while delivering exceptional value. Maintain regular follow-ups with past clients to generate repeat business. Operational Excellence Manage event budgets, track costs, and ensure profitability targets are met. Oversee event setup, styling, and breakdown according to brand standards. Ensure all events comply with health, safety, and licensing regulations. Troubleshoot issues swiftly and professionally during events. Collaboration & Brand Alignment Work closely with the marketing team to promote events and generate buzz. Develop creative concepts that align with Gorgeous George’s brand identity. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitors, and potential market gaps. Skills & Attributes Strong organisational and multitasking abilities. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Business Development & Sales Corporate Client Outreach: Minimum of 20 cold calls and/or 5 in-person corporate visits per Month. Lead Generation: Minimum of 10 qualified new event leads per month. Conversion Rate: Convert at least 30% of qualified leads into confirmed bookings. Event Revenue Growth: Achieve a minimum 10% year-on-year growth in event revenue. Event Execution & Profitability Cost of Sales Management: Maintain event cost of sales within agreed budget parameters. Client Satisfaction: Achieve a minimum post-event feedback score of 90% positive. Operational Delivery: 100% compliance with event timelines, brand standards, and safety regulations. Relationship Management Repeat Business: Secure at least 20% of total events from repeat corporate clients. Networking Activity: Attend a minimum of 2 industry or networking events per month.
