Duty Manager | Luxury Boutique Hotel | Cape Town Salary: Negotiable DOE Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to join a luxury boutique hotel in Cape Town. This role requires a confident, professional leader with excellent guest service skills and the ability to oversee smooth operations across multiple departments. Key Responsibilities: Guest Experience Personally welcome VIP, repeat, and special occasion guests Oversee check-in and check-out processes for efficiency and professionalism Handle guest complaints and feedback promptly and effectively Engage with guests in public areas, anticipating and exceeding their needs Ensure guest requests such as tours, transfers, and reservations are actioned efficiently Operational Oversight Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) in the absence of senior management Conduct property checks to monitor housekeeping, public areas, and maintenance standards Liaise with Housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready and arrivals/departures are smooth Coordinate with Food & Beverage to maintain service standards Ensure accurate guest profiles and billing in the front office Oversee security protocols and respond to operational challenges Team Leadership Lead by example, setting high standards for grooming, etiquette, and service Supervise; motivate, and mentor the Front Office team Assist with scheduling to ensure adequate departmental coverage Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments Administration & Communication Compile Duty Manager reports highlighting guest feedback, incidents, and follow-ups Conduct thorough shift handovers with management and colleagues Monitor cash handling and compliance with financial procedures Track and report guest feedback trends and operational challenges Support compliance with health, safety, and legislative requirements Requirements: Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a supervisory, assistant manager, or duty manager role within hospitality Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Guest-focused mindset with excellent attention to detail Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional to advance their career in a prestigious boutique hotel environment.
