Job Summary
Hospitality Hire is recruiting an experienced Director of Food & Beverage for a leading luxury hotel in Cape Town . Food & Beverage plays a central role in shaping memorable guest experiences across restaurants, bars, banqueting, conferencing, and events. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, commercial performance, and consistently high service standards across all Food & Beverage outlets. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned hospitality professional with extensive experience in large; high-volume hotel environments ; strong commercial awareness, and a passion for luxury service delivery. Key Responsibilities Food & Beverage Operations Lead and oversee all Food & Beverage operations, including: Restaurants and bars Banqueting; conferencing, and events In-room dining and leisure or pool outlets (where applicable) Ensure smooth, efficient day-to-day operations across all outlets Maintain service standards aligned with luxury hotel positioning Leadership & People Management Provide strategic and hands-on leadership to all Food & Beverage teams Recruit; train, mentor, and develop management and operational staff Drive a high-performance, service-driven team culture Ensure compliance with labour legislation, health and safety, hygiene, and liquor regulations Financial & Commercial Performance Manage Food & Beverage budgets, forecasts, and cost controls Drive revenue growth, profitability, and upselling initiatives Monitor stock control, procurement, wastage, and margins Analyse financial and operational reports and implement corrective actions where required Quality & Guest Experience Maintain exceptional food quality, service presentation, and overall guest experience Handle escalated guest feedback professionally and effectively Collaborate closely with Culinary, Sales, and Events teams to deliver seamless guest experiences Minimum Requirements Matric or equivalent qualification Relevant hospitality or Food & Beverage management qualification Minimum 5–8 years’ senior Food & Beverage management experience within a large 4- or 5-star hotel or resort Proven experience managing multiple outlets and large teams Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control Experience working in high-volume, service-driven hotel environments Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and liquor legislation Computer literate (Microsoft Office and hotel POS / PMS systems) CV must be fully updated prior to submission Key Skills & Attributes Strong operational and commercial mindset Confident; visible leader who inspires and motivates teams High attention to detail and service consistency Calm; decisive, and solutions-focused under pressure Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills Guest-focused with a passion for food, service, and hospitality excellence Professional presentation and conduct Why Apply Through Hospitality Hire Work with a specialist hospitality recruitment agency Placement within a high-profile luxury hotel environment Senior leadership role with real operational and commercial impact Supportive executive team and collaborative culture Opportunity to shape and elevate a multi-outlet Food & Beverage operation Competitive salary and employee benefits Recruitment is aligned with the company’s Employment Equity Plan.
