Job Summary
A leading hospitality group is seeking an accomplished Commercial Director to lead its portfolio-wide Sales, Marketing, Revenue and Distribution functions and drive sustainable commercial growth. Reporting to the COO and working closely with the CEO, the Commercial Director will provide strategic and hands-on commercial leadership, ensuring that hotel operations, sales, marketing and revenue management work together to maximise performance, profitability and market position. Key responsibilities: Develop and execute an integrated Group commercial strategy across Sales, Marketing, Revenue and Distribution. Lead portfolio sales performance, key accounts, business development, pipeline management and conversion. Strengthen brand positioning, digital marketing, communications, PR and direct-booking performance. Lead revenue management, pricing, forecasting and distribution strategy, optimising ADR, RevPAR, occupancy and channel profitability. Work closely with GMs, Finance and Operations to improve hotel-level performance, budgets and forecasts. Identify underperforming hotels and commercial opportunities, implementing effective turnaround and recovery plans. Build strong relationships with hotel owners and senior stakeholders through credible reporting, communication and delivery. Provide commercial input into new hotel opportunities, agreements, openings, take-ons and repositioning projects. Lead and develop a high-performing national commercial team, establishing clear standards, accountability and performance disciplines. Drive robust commercial systems, reporting, analytics and continuous improvement across the portfolio. Requirements: SA Citizen Matric / Grade 12 qualification A relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management or a related discipline. Significant senior commercial leadership experience within hospitality, preferably across multiple properties. Strong expertise spanning hotel sales, marketing, revenue management, pricing and distribution. Proven success improving commercial performance and leading teams. Experience working with owners, GMs and senior executives, including hotel openings and commercial implementations. Exceptional strategic, analytical, leadership, negotiation and communication skills. Experience with international hospitality brands is advantageous.
