Assistant Tasting Room Manager | Luxury Hotel | Cape Town Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Tasting Room Manager for a luxury hotel based in Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional with strong wine and service knowledge to support the leadership of a premium tasting room environment and contribute to delivering exceptional guest experiences. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing daily operations, supporting team leadership, and ensuring high standards of service, sales performance, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Overseeing daily cellar door and tasting room operations to maintain premium service standards Supporting the management, training, and scheduling of tasting room staff Assisting with stock control, sales reconciliation, and cash management processes Ensuring strong guest service delivery and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction Supporting the coordination and hosting of special events and functions Assisting with local marketing initiatives and relationship building with partners and stakeholders Maintaining accurate administration, reporting, and operational records Supporting the Tasting Room Manager with staff development and team leadership Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and operational procedures Overseeing cleanliness, presentation, and readiness of all guest areas Assisting with cash-ups, handovers, and financial controls Supporting general operational duties to ensure smooth daily functioning of the tasting room Requirements: Matric and a Hospitality Diploma (or equivalent) Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within a wine or hospitality environment WSET or wine-related qualification advantageous Strong understanding of wine, service standards, and guest experience delivery Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong organisational and administrative abilities High attention to detail and numerical accuracy Leadership potential with a proactive and hands-on approach Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment Package: Salary negotiable depending on experience Live-out position Candidates who meet the above requirements and are interested in this opportunity are invited to submit their CV to apply for the role.
