Job Summary
Location: Western Cape Travel Required: Yes (including occasional overnight stays) About the Role We are looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Assistant Operations Manager to support the Operations Manager in overseeing the daily performance of our boutique hotels, bars and restaurants across the Western Cape. This is an operational, people-focused role suited to someone who thrives on maintaining standards, supporting teams, implementing systems and being present on the ground. You will work closely with on-site managers to ensure consistency, efficiency and an exceptional guest experience across all properties. Key Responsibilities Operations & Property Support • Assist in the day-to-day oversight of boutique hotels, bars and restaurants • Conduct regular site visits to ensure service standards, procedures and brand consistency • Support opening and closing procedures, daily operations and on-site problem-solving • Monitor guest experience and assist with handling escalations when required Systems; Processes & Compliance • Support the implementation and maintenance of SOPs and operational systems • Ensure procedures are consistently applied across all properties • Assist with audits, checklists, reporting and operational controls • Identify gaps and support continuous improvement initiatives People & HR Support • Assist with onboarding, inductions, training and performance monitoring • Support disciplinary processes and staff-related matters in line with company policy • Help manage staffing levels, rosters and leave planning • Assist in building strong, motivated and well-trained teams Financial & Administrative Support • Assist with stock control, procurement and cost monitoring • Support reporting on occupancy, revenue, labour and operational KPIs • Ensure administrative processes are correctly followed on site Travel & Flexibility • Travel regularly between properties within the Western Cape • Be available for overnight stays when operationally required • Provide hands-on support during peak periods, openings or operational challenges Requirements • Proven experience in hospitality operations (boutique hotels, restaurants or bars preferred) • Strong people-management and HR exposure • Solid understanding of hospitality systems, procedures and compliance • Highly organised, detail-oriented and process-driven • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and take initiative • Flexible; adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced environment • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel Personal Attributes • Professional; reliable and discreet • Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving skills • Guest-centric with high personal standards • Strong work ethic and hands-on approach Why Join Us • Work across unique boutique hospitality properties • Exposure to multi-site operations and senior management • Opportunity to grow into a more senior operational role • Dynamic; people-focused environment To apply: Please submit your CV and a brief motivation outlining your hospitality operations experience Corné
