Job Summary
Our client, a prestigious luxury wine estate in Stellenbosch, is seeking an experienced Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the Executive Housekeeper in delivering exceptional housekeeping standards across the property. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the successful candidate will assist in overseeing the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring guest rooms, public areas and laundry facilities consistently meet the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation and hygiene. Key responsibilities include supervising and supporting the housekeeping team, conducting regular inspections of guest accommodation and public areas, coordinating daily housekeeping activities, maintaining linen and consumable stock, overseeing monthly stock takes, and ensuring all maintenance issues are reported and resolved promptly. You will also play an important role in training and developing team members, handling guest requests and complaints professionally, and maintaining a positive, motivated working environment that reflects the estate's commitment to luxury hospitality. This role requires a proactive leader who is highly organised, detail-oriented and passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences through operational excellence. Minimum Requirements; Grade 12 (Matric). Minimum of 2–3 years' housekeeping supervisory or management experience within the hospitality industry. Previous experience in a luxury hotel, lodge or wine estate environment will be advantageous. Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop housekeeping teams. Strong understanding of housekeeping operations, hygiene and quality standards. Experience conducting room inspections, stock control and linen management. Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. Professional appearance with a strong guest-focused approach. Self-disciplined; reliable and able to work effectively under pressure. Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required by hospitality operations.
