Role Overview The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring the consistent preparation and delivery of high-quality meals. This role requires strong leadership, culinary expertise, and the ability to manage kitchen staff, maintain food safety standards, and contribute to menu development. Key Responsibilities · Kitchen Operations Management · Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and consistency. · Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to established standards. · Prepare, cook, and present dishes in line with menu specifications. · Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation to ensure excellence. · Implement and enforce food safety and hygiene regulations. · Supervise and guide kitchen staff, ensuring effective teamwork. · Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to junior staff. · Delegate tasks appropriately to ensure smooth kitchen operations. · Contribute to menu creation, innovation, and seasonal updates. · Standardise recipes and ensure consistency in food preparation. · Manage stock levels and oversee ordering of supplies. · Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients. · Control food costs, minimise waste, and maintain budget targets, Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Required Skills and Competencies · Strong culinary expertise and knowledge of cooking techniques · Excellent time management and organisational abilities · High attention to detail and quality standards · Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment · Relevant culinary qualification or equivalent experience The ideal candidate will be innovative, organised, and passionate about delivering memorable dining experiences while helping to build and strengthen the reputation of a brand new family friendly restaurant.
