About the Role:
We are currently sourcing a commercially driven and operationally strong Branch Manager for an agricultural retail outlet. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the branch’s profitability, operational efficiency, and local market growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Commercial Management: Drive branch profitability, manage budgets, oversee daily financial administration, and execute the regional business plan.
Operational & Inventory Control: Oversee total stock management, procurement, merchandising, and the safeguarding of company assets.
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and motivate branch staff. Handle all local HR matters in compliance with the Labour Relations Act (LRA) and Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA).
Business Development: Actively identify local market opportunities, drive retail sales, and expand the customer base within the surrounding farming community.
Customer Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for local farmers and commercial clients, offering expert advice and resolving escalated queries.
Compliance: Ensure all branch operations adhere strictly to internal governance, health and safety regulations, and relevant statutory requirements (including FICA and POPIA).
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) is essential. A relevant tertiary qualification (Diploma/Degree in Agriculture, Business Management, or Retail/Marketing) is highly advantageous.
Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven management experience within an agricultural retail, FMCG, or hardware environment.
Language Skills: Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans (written and spoken) to effectively communicate with the local client base.
Technical Skills: Strong computer literacy, specifically in MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP/Retail Point-of-Sale systems.
Licenses: Valid Code B driver’s license and own reliable transport.
