Job Summary
Our client, a well-established organisation operating within the agricultural industry, is seeking to employ an experienced IT Systems Support Specialist to join their team based in Addo, Sundays River Valley.
Requirements
- Relevant formal IT Certificate, Diploma, or Degree
- 3 - 5 years experience
- Strong proficiency in SQL Scripting and experience with databases (MS SQL Server and MS Access) – Non-negotiable
- Thorough knowledge of the Windows environment
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Solid understanding of software development principles
- Experience in a development environment will be advantageous
- Keen interest in and aptitude for using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot and similar technologies) to enhance productivity and code quality
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
1st Line Systems Support
- Provide proactive support, guidance, and training to users on various software applications, including core production systems
Database Reporting and Analysis
- Perform database interrogations and create reusable, high-quality reports using MS Excel and SQL Scripts
System Redevelopment
- Assist in the in-house redevelopment of legacy systems
- Utilize AI-driven development tools to accelerate and optimize coding and workflow processes
IT Administration
- Execute general IT administrative tasks to ensure departmental efficiency
