Head Chef Luxury Lodge Eastern Cape A prestigious Country House in Plettenberg Bay is seeking a talented, passionate, and experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen team and deliver exceptional dining experiences This position is ideal for a creative culinary professional who thrives in a boutique hospitality environment, values fresh local ingredients, and has a passion for producing innovative, high-quality cuisine. Key Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality and presentation. Design and develop seasonal menus that showcase fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Prepare and present breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special event menus to the highest standards. Lead; train, motivate, and develop the kitchen team. Ensure consistency in food preparation, portion control, and presentation. Manage food costing, budgeting, and stock control to achieve financial targets. Source quality suppliers and maintain strong supplier relationships. Monitor inventory levels and oversee purchasing and ordering processes. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. Work closely with management to enhance the overall guest experience. Accommodate dietary requirements and special guest requests. Assist with private dining experiences, functions, and special events. Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a luxury hotel, lodge, country house, or fine dining establishment. Relevant culinary qualification from a recognized institution. Strong knowledge of contemporary cuisine and modern cooking techniques. Proven experience in menu development and kitchen management. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong understanding of food costing, budgeting, and stock management. Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards. Ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining exceptional standards. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction.
