Job Summary
JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a motivated IT Support Technician to help keep our computers, software, and networks running smoothly. You’ll provide hands-on support to our team, solve technical problems, and make sure everyone can work without interruptions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
User Support
• Help staff with computer, software, and network issues.
• Provide support both on-site and remotely.
• Track and resolve support requests quickly.
Hardware & Software
• Set up and maintain PCs, laptops, printers, and other devices.
• Install and update software and operating systems.
• Perform routine maintenance to prevent problems.
Network & Security
• Assist with basic network issues (Wi-Fi, LAN, internet).
• Support user accounts and permissions.
• Apply security updates and antivirus protection.
Administration & Documentation
• Keep records of IT equipment and setups.
• Update guides and help documents for users.
• Help with IT stock and purchases.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• IT certification or qualification (A+, N+, MCSE, or equivalent preferred)
• 1–3 years of IT support or helpdesk experience
• Good problem-solving and communication skills
• Valid driver’s licence (advantageous)
• Basic understanding of Windows 10/11, device settings, and common desktop applications.
• Fundamentals of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive) and email/calendar basics.
• Knowledge of computer hardware (RAM, SSD, peripherals) and safe handling.
