Job Summary
Our client within the security technology industry that is based in Alberton is looking for 4 professional and experienced CCTV Control Room Operator to work in their office-based monitoring room.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring multiple CCTV sites, responding to alarms, reporting incidents, and ensuring all surveillance systems are functioning effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor live CCTV footage from multiple client or company sites.
- Detect suspicious activity, trespassing, theft, vandalism, or security breaches.
- Respond to alarm activations and escalate incidents immediately.
- Dispatch security response teams when required.
- Operate CCTV software, DVR/NVR systems, remote viewing platforms, and alarm systems.
- Conduct regular camera and system health checks.
- Keep accurate incident reports, shift handover notes, and daily logs.
- Review recorded footage for investigations when requested.
- Communicate professionally with clients, guards, supervisors, and management.
- Maintain confidentiality of all footage and client information.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid PSIRA accreditation required.
- Minimum 1–2 years CCTV control room / monitoring room experience.
- Experience with remote monitoring systems and CCTV software.
- Good computer literacy and report writing skills.
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work shifts, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work under pressure.
