A well-established engineering and product development company is seeking an experienced Electrical Draughtsman to support both renewable energy projects and OEM product development initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and maintaining high-quality electrical drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), manufacturing documentation, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and product drawings for a range of power and energy solutions.
Working closely with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams, you will ensure that designs are accurately translated into production-ready documentation while supporting the development of innovative renewable energy products and systems.
Education:
- National Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Draughting, or a related technical discipline.
- Formal CAD qualification or certification.
- Additional renewable energy or Solar PV training will be advantageous.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in electrical drafting within renewable energy, electrical manufacturing, or power systems environments.
- Proven experience developing Solar PV Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
- Experience producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, general arrangement drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong knowledge of Solar PV systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), AC and DC distribution systems, and electrical protection systems.
- Experience creating product and assembly drawings for electrical equipment and OEM products.
- Exposure to manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Strong understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawing revisions, and document control procedures.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor is essential, while SolidWorks experience will be advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.
