Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & Automation

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure.
• Develop, manage, and optimise Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, ensuring consistency, repeatability, and adherence to best practices.
• Continuously improve infrastructure automation to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

CI/CD & Release Management

• Design, build, and maintain robust Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Support automated application deployments and release processes across multiple environments.
• Drive best practices for software delivery, testing, deployment automation, and operational excellence.

Containerisation & Platform Management

• Deploy, manage, and support containerised applications using Kubernetes and Docker technologies.
• Administer and optimise Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and hybrid/on-premises container platforms.
• Ensure platform scalability, availability, reliability, and performance.

Data Platform Administration

• Manage and support Azure data services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Cache for Redis.
• Monitor database and cache performance, availability, security, and capacity utilisation.
• Implement backup and recovery processes, scaling strategies, alerting, and performance optimisation initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related incidents while ensuring minimal business disruption.

Monitoring, Observability & Reliability

• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and the ELK Stack.
• Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and infrastructure risks.
• Develop alerting mechanisms and dashboards to support operational visibility and platform reliability.

Serverless & Integration Services

• Deploy, manage, and optimise Azure Durable Functions supporting complex, long-running, and stateful workflows.
• Implement orchestration patterns, error handling, retries, checkpointing, and monitoring to ensure reliable execution.
• Support production environments through proactive troubleshooting and continuous optimisation.

Security & Governance

• Implement and maintain cloud security best practices across infrastructure and applications.
• Manage identity and access controls using Microsoft Entra ID and Azure security services.
• Configure secure secret management through Azure Key Vault.
• Apply network security controls, governance policies, and compliance requirements across cloud environments.
• Support DevSecOps initiatives by embedding security into development and deployment processes.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant IT Diploma or equivalent qualification will also be considered.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Operations.
• Proven experience supporting and managing production workloads within Microsoft Azure environments.
• Strong experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform.
• Experience with container technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell and/or Bash.
• Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, and ELK Stack.
• Experience administering and supporting Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Cache for Redis.
• Experience working with API Management solutions and cloud networking technologies such as Cloudflare.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, and cloud identity management solutions.
