Job Summary
Our client in the FMCG industry is looking to appoint a Product Application Technologist to join their team, based in Maitland, Cape Town.
Requirements:
- A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field (e.g., Food Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology)
BTech candidates must have poultry industry experience.
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
- Willing and able to travel to client sites as required (petrol to be reimbursed).
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a Product Application Technologist, specifically in poultry.
- Hands-on experience working with poultry brines, coating systems, and injection equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and test brine and coating systems for poultry applications.
- Conduct product trials at customer sites, including set-up and operation of injectors and other equipment.
- Collaborate with customers to identify needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support and recommend process or formulation improvements.
- Participate in NPD projects, offering technical input from concept through to implementation.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for both internal use and clients.
- Maintain accurate records, lab notes, and formulation data.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Liaise with suppliers, universities, and external labs as required.
- Conduct monthly customer visits and attend factory trials.
