Job Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Weighbridge Operator primary purpose is to provide support at the weighbridge in the yard. He/she will also have to:
- Weigh in customers and SAM vehicles
- Be responsible for the grading of purchased material
- Identify inferior material
- Negotiate quality and price of purchased material
- Be responsible for the weighing and dispatching of all purchased ferrous and non-ferrous material
- Keep stock and dispatch record
- Assist yard supervisor
- Assist customers and customer queries
QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE
- A minimum Grade 12 certificate
- 2 years working experience
- Computer literate – MS Office, internet and e-mail
- Ability to work neatly and clearly when capturing data and filing electronically
- Ability to process data quickly and accurately
- Must be good with figures
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a multi-tasking environment
