Job Summary
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and maintain calibration systems that measure characteristics of components including length, time, mass, temperature
- Adjust measurement capability to minimize errors
- Implement and maintain calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement
- Advise others on methods of resolving measurement problems
- Identify magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to define reliability of measurement process
- Redesign or readjust measurement capability to minimize errors
- SPC/Capabilities studies
- Calibration of testing equipment
- Stopping manufacturing process when a failure is detected during testing
- Report any measurement problems to management
- Verification of checking fixtures
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- National Diploma in Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering
- 2 to 3 years relevant experience
- Knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM Metrology XG and GOM)
- Knowledge of calibration process
- Knowledge of SPC, Cm, Cmk, Pp PpPk, Cp CPk
- Good interpretation of CAD/CATIA data
- Drawing skills
- Knowledge of quality management systems
- Knowledge of Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
- Computer Literacy including MS Excel, Word & Access
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand test specifications
- Test laboratory experience would be advantageous
- Understand reading of drawings
