Temporary Category Controller
We are looking for a Temporary Category Controller to provide administrative and operational support to the Category Manager. This role will suit someone with FMCG experience, strong Excel skills and exposure to buying, replenishment, stock management and supplier administration.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist the Category Manager with day-to-day category administration, basic replenishment buying and reporting.
Duties will include:
Assisting with category and replenishment administration
Monitoring inbound and outbound service levels
Managing vendor and account information
Proactively assisting with out-of-stock management
Removing discontinued stock items as per supplier information
Capturing added-demand products
Ensuring promotional quantities are correct
Monitoring stock levels, stock age and unproductive inventory
Checking that products are listed correctly on AS400
Listing new products on AS400
Ensuring system data is clean and accurate, including prices and quantities
Preparing daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports
Coordinating marketing communication to retailers and suppliers
Assisting with any other reasonable tasks as required
Minimum Requirements
Matric / Grade 12
Marketing or Purchasing related Degree/Diploma
1–2 years’ experience within an FMCG-related environment
MS Office experience
Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
Strong attention to detail
Customer-focused approach
Able to work under pressure
Organised and systematic
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Negotiation skills
High stress tolerance
