Job Summary
A leading FMCG manufacturer is looking for a proactive and detail-driven R&D Packaging Coordinator / Technologist to join their team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about packaging innovation, cost optimisation, and delivering high-quality products in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, trial, and implement new packaging solutions and improvements
- Drive packaging optimisation and cost-saving initiatives across factories
- Coordinate and document factory trials, including machinability and transport testing
- Work with a wide range of materials (plastic, glass, metal, paper, board, etc.)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing) on new product launches
- Source and evaluate alternative packaging suppliers
- Ensure packaging complies with regulatory, food safety, and labelling requirements
- Manage packaging artwork approvals and barcode compliance
- Support sustainability and recyclability initiatives
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Packaging
- Experience in packaging, R&D, or a similar role within FMCG
- Strong understanding of packaging materials and production processes
- Exposure to factory trials, quality standards, and compliance requirements
- Excellent coordination and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
