Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Governance

• Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, annual, and statutory financial reports.
• Ensure financial accuracy, integrity, and compliance across the organisation.
• Compile executive and board-level reporting packs with strategic insights and recommendations.
• Analyse business performance, financial risks, and growth opportunities.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning

• Drive the annual budgeting process across business units.
• Lead forecasting cycles and deliver accurate financial projections.
• Develop and consolidate strategic financial plans.
• Perform detailed variance analysis and identify performance improvement opportunities.
• Partner with operational leaders to support business objectives and profitability.

Business Partnering & Commercial Finance

• Deliver strategic financial analysis to support growth initiatives and business decisions.
• Provide actionable insights that improve operational and financial performance.
• Drive data-driven decision-making through advanced financial modelling and analysis.
• Promote a culture of accountability, efficiency, and financial discipline.

Finance Transformation & Process Improvement

• Continuously improve reporting processes, controls, and financial systems.
• Lead automation and reporting enhancement initiatives.
• Drive finance transformation projects focused on efficiency and data quality.
• Ensure all reporting deadlines and deliverables are achieved.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.
• Build strong relationships across finance, operations, and external stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.

Risk, Compliance & Audit

• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Maintain strong internal controls and governance standards.
• Support internal and external audits and drive the resolution of findings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CA(SA) qualification is essential.
• Minimum 10 years' post-qualification experience within a senior finance leadership role.
• Proven experience managing and developing finance teams.
• Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering.
• Experience within a retail, FMCG, commercial, or high-volume corporate environment will be highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Advanced proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace.
• Exceptional analytical, commercial, and strategic thinking skills.
