PBT Group is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a high-performing data team responsible for building and maintaining the data pipelines behind enterprise Product Health dashboards used across multiple product teams.

This role requires a hands-on engineer with strong technical capability and architectural thinking, who is comfortable working in complex data environments. The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with the ability to design scalable solutions while still being actively involved in engineering and pipeline development.

The successful candidate will work across the AWS data ecosystem, building and optimising data pipelines, supporting analytics initiatives, and ensuring high levels of data integrity, reliability, and performance that support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Pipeline Development

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Develop and optimise AWS-based data pipelines to support analytics and reporting solutions.
• Ensure pipelines are robust, secure, and performance optimised.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms to maintain data reliability.

Data Modelling & Architecture

• Design and optimise data models and schemas that support analytics and reporting.
• Contribute to the technical design and architecture of data solutions.
• Align solutions with enterprise data architecture and governance standards.

Analytics & Reporting Support

• Support Power BI dashboards and reporting models, including leadership reporting and product health insights.
• Assist in developing new KPIs and analytical capabilities to enhance reporting value.

Data Quality & Governance

• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across the data ecosystem.
• Conduct unit and integration testing of pipelines and data transformations.
• Support data governance initiatives and best practices.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with product teams, analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Participate in solution design discussions, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

• 5+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer working in complex enterprise data environments.
• Strong experience designing and developing data pipelines and data platforms.
• Ability to think architecturally while remaining hands-on in engineering work.

Technical Skills

• Strong SQL and data transformation experience
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines
• Hands-on experience working with AWS data platforms
• Experience with data modelling and data architecture
• Exposure to Power BI or similar BI/reporting tools
• Understanding of data quality, governance, and best practices

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in product analytics or product-focused data environments
• Exposure to modern data engineering frameworks and tooling
• Experience working in Agile or product-driven delivery teams
