Salary: R16 000 – R24 000 per month (depending on experience)
A well-established company is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join its finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full accounts receivable function, ensuring effective debt collection, minimizing credit risk, and maintaining positive customer relationships.
This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
Manage and monitor accounts receivable aging to minimize overdue debt and reduce credit risk.
Follow up on outstanding accounts and collect overdue payments from customers.
Investigate and resolve customer payment queries, disputes, and account discrepancies.
Review and assess customer credit applications, credit reports, and financial information.
Evaluate customer creditworthiness in line with company policies and procedures.
Prepare and distribute weekly invoices and month-end customer statements.
Compile weekly age analysis reports and collection forecasts.
Prepare bank statements and supporting documentation for creditors.
Raise and process credit notes accurately and timeously.
Manage the handover of overdue accounts for further collection processes where required.
Maintain accurate customer records and account information.
Liaise with sales, customer service, and other internal departments to resolve account-related issues.
Ensure compliance with company credit policies and relevant financial regulations.
Prepare periodic credit control and accounts receivable reports for management.
Matric (Grade 12).
Minimum 2 years' experience in Credit Control and Accounts Receivable.
Previous experience within a retail or product-based environment will be advantageous.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Experience working on Sage Evolution is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of credit control principles, collections, and risk assessment.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Certificate or qualification in Finance, Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field.
