Job Overview

The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing the preparation of financial statements, managing month-end processes, leading junior staff, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive individual with strong technical skills and a desire to grow within a reputable firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Handle general ledger reconciliation and journal entries.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and local tax regulations.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Assist in audits, both internal and external.
• Liaise with clients to provide financial insights and resolve queries.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Ensure timely submission of SARS returns (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax).

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional qualification (SAIPA/SAICA registered or in progress preferred).
• Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a public practice.
• Experience with CaseWare, Pastel, Xero, or similar accounting software.

Remuneration:
