Job Summary
Accounts Internship Location: Stellenbosch, Western Cape Department: Finance Contract Type: Internship Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Intern to join our Finance team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate pursuing a qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field to gain practical experience in a dynamic business environment. The successful candidate will assist with various accounting, creditor, debtor, stock control, and administrative functions while receiving hands-on training and mentorship from experienced finance professionals. Key Responsibilities Creditors & Supplier Management Prepare and process supplier invoices on Pastel. Prepare supplier invoices for weekly payment runs. Perform monthly reconciliations of supplier accounts and ledgers. Complete and submit supplier credit applications. Prepare month-end supplier invoice schedules for cash flow forecasting. Debtors & Accounts Receivable Process sales invoices accurately and timeously. Assist with daily cash-ups and reconciliation processes. Follow up with customers regarding outstanding balances. Support debtor account maintenance and reconciliations. Inventory & Stock Control Assist with reconciling inventory across all stores and departments. Participate in weekly stock counts and stock variance investigations. Support inventory reporting and record accuracy. Administration & Reporting Perform general office and finance administration duties. File invoices and supporting documentation accurately. Generate reports, reconciliations, and schedules as required by the Financial Manager. Review and update the Fixed Asset Register on a monthly basis. Assist with ad hoc projects and administrative tasks within the Finance Department. Minimum Requirements Completed a qualification in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field. Basic understanding of accounting principles. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work professionally. Advantageous Previous internship, work experience, or exposure to accounting environments.
