Accountant / Bookkeeper

Job Summary

An established company is seeking an experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper to join their finance team in Sandton. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with company financial procedures and accounting standards.

This role is suited to a detail-oriented finance professional with solid accounting/bookkeeping experience in a fast-paced corporate environment. Candidates from logistics, transportation, international trade, manufacturing, or FMCG industries will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping transactions

• Process invoices, supplier payments, expense claims, and journals accurately

• Perform bank, supplier, and general ledger reconciliations

• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes

• Prepare financial reports and assist with management accounts

• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and internal controls

• Support audit preparation and statutory compliance requirements

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities where required

• Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, and external stakeholders

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial information

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Minimum 3 years’ accounting/bookkeeping experience

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes

• Proficient in MS Excel and accounting systems

• Experience within logistics, transportation, international trade, manufacturing, or FMCG industries will be advantageous

• Stable employment history preferred
