We are seeking a highly skilled Group Accountant to maintain accurate financial and tax reporting while managing and implementing robust accounting and reporting controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare annual financial statements for multiple entities and consolidated group statements.
- Submit IT14s, provisional tax returns, and dividend tax returns via e-filing.
- Reconcile and submit VAT and withholding tax returns for both South African and foreign entities.
- Compile annual budgets and forecasts.
- Review monthly bank reconciliations and process general journal entries.
- Manage trial balances and perform consolidations for all reporting entities.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform month-end and year-end system closures.
- Submit quarterly reporting packs and liaise with internal and external auditors.
- Review and authorize payments on banking systems.
- Develop, monitor, and implement internal accounting policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.Com Honours or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (B.Com).
- Articles advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting/reporting roles.
- Staff management experience.
- Strong background in group reporting, taxation, and consolidation.
Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and a recognized accounting package.
- Experience with Cognos, Business Central, and Draftworx advantageous.
