Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking to employ a Junior Accountant to join their team based in Struandale, Port Elizabeth / Gqeberha.

Requirements:
- 3-year Accounting Degree or Diploma (BCom Accounting or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years’ accounting experience
- Knowledge of South African tax laws and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage or Pastel
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s licence
Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping
- Capture and reconcile financial transactions including sales, purchases, and expenses
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries and trial balances
- Ensure financial records are maintained according to company processes and accounting standards
Financial Reporting
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Process supplier invoices and customer billing accurately and timeously
- Follow up on outstanding customer payments
- Maintain accurate creditor and debtor records
Compliance and Statutory Submissions
- Assist with VAT and other statutory submissions to SARS
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and South African accounting standards
- Support payroll processing and statutory submissions including PAYE, UIF, and SDL
Bank Reconciliations and Cash Flow
- Prepare and maintain accurate bank reconciliations
- Monitor company cash flow and financial transactions
Audit and Inventory Support
- Assist with internal and external audit preparation
- Provide supporting schedules and financial documentation
- Assist with raw material and finished goods inventory monitoring and product costing
