FINANCE MANAGER (Wholesale & Import)  - R 60-55k pm - SOUTHERN SUBURBS, CPT

An established business in the Import & Wholesale sector is seeking a commercially astute Finance Manager to lead its finance function and support the continued growth of the business.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on finance leader with strong technical accounting expertise who can review and challenge management accounts, hold the finance team accountable, strengthen financial controls, and provide valuable commercial insight to executive management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy and continuous improvement.
  
• Review and scrutinise monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and month-end processes.
  
• Provide commercial financial insight through inventory accounting, import and landed cost analysis, gross margin reporting, cash flow management and profitability analysis.
  
• Strengthen financial controls, ensure statutory compliance, manage external audit processes and drive continuous process improvements through automation and best practice.
  
• Partner with executive management by delivering meaningful financial analysis and recommendations that support strategic business decisions.
  

Requirements

Requirements

• Proven leadership experience managing and developing a finance team.
  
• Experience within Import, Wholesale, Distribution, Manufacturing or FMCG will be highly advantageous.
  
• Strong technical accounting ability with the confidence to review and challenge management accounts, reconciliations and financial reporting.
  
• Solid understanding of inventory accounting, costing, financial controls and ERP systems.
  
• BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification. SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles advantageous.
