As our Financial Accountant, your responsibilities will include accounting for all financial transactions and reconciliations, maintaining control accounts and sub-ledgers, and reviewing reconciliations for various accounts including fixed assets.
You will handle monthly accruals and journal preparations, monitor the balance sheet, and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items within set timeframes. Managing intercompany accounts and reviewing fixed asset registers will be part of your daily routine, along with ensuring compliance with SARS regulations and IFRS standards. You will also prepare comprehensive financial reports, support year-end activities, coordinate with external auditors, and implement new accounting standards.
To succeed, you should have a minimum of three to five years’ experience in financial accounting, preferably within industries like hospitality or agriculture. Strong skills in asset management, cash flow management, IFRS, and reconciliation are essential. Your ability to review tax and accrual accounts, manage external audits, and communicate effectively with stakeholders will be vital.
Nice-to-have skills include proficiency in C and R, along with a good understanding of financial reporting and IFRS compliance.
