Our client, a well-known citrus farming and packhouse operation, is seeking a SAICA Accountant to join their team in Kirkwood, Eastern Cape.
The role involves managing financial accuracy, providing operational and management insight, and supporting strategic decision-making within a fast-paced packhouse and export-focused environment, particularly during peak citrus season.

Requirements
- SAICA qualified (Completed Articles – essential).
- Minimum 5+ years’ post-articles accounting experience.
- Experience within agriculture, citrus, exports, or FMCG (highly advantageous).
- Solid understanding of export processes and foreign currency transactions.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- High work ethic, particularly during peak citrus season.
- Sound understanding of packhouse cost structures and operational dynamics.
- Ability to engage confidently with stakeholders and business directors.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
- Exceptional resilience under pressure.
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English and Afrikaans.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Full financial accounting function including reconciliations and reporting.
- Management reporting and analysis.
- Export-related financial management and foreign exchange tracking.
- Costing and margin analysis linked to packhouse operations.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Liaising with operational teams to ensure financial alignment.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Supporting strategic decision-making through financial insight.
