Our client, a renowned financial institution is looking to hire an experienced Exchange Control Officer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in exchange control, financial advisory and intermediary services, and an understanding of the regulatory environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for providing specialised exchange control advice to clients. Formulates and submits formal applications to the South African Reserve Bank for clients on transactions which are affected by the foreign exchange control regulations. Ensure that applications are within the framework of the relevant guidelines and foreign exchange policy parameters and that transactions, new forex products and operational procedures are within the foreign exchange policy parameters as required by legislation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE (INHERENT JOB REQUIREMENTS)

Qualifications

• Advanced Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Compliance, Internal Audit or Law
• FAIS (Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services) compliant
• 5 - 8 years of banking experience with 5 years in exchange control knowledge
• Experience in interpreting and applying Exchange Control Rules and Regulations as well as the Balance of the Payment reporting system and related requirements
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of financial systems and processes
