Job Summary
Job Description:
Take ownership of month-end reporting, including accruals, reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, and financial close activities.
Prepare monthly management accounts, delivering detailed profit and loss analysis, balance sheet commentary, forecasting updates, and performance insights.
Partner with operational leaders to develop annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and rolling financial projections.
Review project costs, labour recoveries, and commercial transactions to ensure accurate reporting and optimal cost recovery.
Manage invoicing, revenue recognition, cash flow monitoring, and debtor performance while improving working capital outcomes.
Analyse contract and project performance, providing clear commercial guidance and recommendations to key stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, governance requirements, and audit standards.
Supervise and develop finance team members while driving continuous improvement across financial processes and systems.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience post articles
Strong accounting and financial reporting background
Mining, Oil & Gas, Engineering, or related project-based industry experience preferred
Advanced Excel skills
Strong commercial acumen and business partnering ability
Previous people supervision or team leadership experience
Experience working with ERP and forecasting systems
Dynamics 365 and/or JD Edwards experience preferred
Oracle Finance knowledge advantageous
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform under pressure
Exposure to African operations highly advantageous
Willingness to travel into Africa as required
Qualification:
CA(SA)
Recognised accounting qualification with completed articles
BCom Degree (minimum)
