Job Summary
Our client is a globally significant platinum group metals (PGMs) producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations across multiple mining complexes, refineries, and processing facilities. The company contributes meaningfully to both domestic and international markets, exporting metals integral to industrial, medical, and automotive applications. With a strong focus on operational excellence and financial discipline, the Financial Manager will play a key role in driving financial performance, cost optimisation, and governance across the business.Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee all financial management activities, including financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting across mining operations and support functions.
Drive rigorous cost control and optimisation initiatives to support operational efficiency in a cyclical commodity environment.
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and insights to Senior Leadership and Exco.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal policies, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
Partner closely with operational leaders to inform decision‑making, capital allocation, and performance improvement initiatives.
Manage financial planning and analysis functions, including scenario modelling and long‑range planning.
Guide, mentor, and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualified CA(SA) with strong technical accounting and strategic finance capability.
Minimum 7+ years’ experience in financial management, ideally within the mining sector or other asset‑intensive industries.
Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
Experience preparing reports for senior management/exco and supporting strategic decision‑making.
Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel/data analysis tools.
Strong commercial acumen, leadership presence, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, results‑driven environment with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
