The successful candidate will act as a trusted finance partner to senior management while overseeing accounts payable, cost management, accruals, reporting, and financial controls. This position offers excellent exposure to strategic decision-making and the opportunity to influence business performance through accurate cost analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the complete cost function across multiple business units
- Review and analyse general ledger costs to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Manage designated cost centres and perform detailed cost reviews
- Oversee the full accounts payable and creditors function
- Manage supplier reconciliations and payment processes
- Ensure accurate month-end accruals, provisions, and cost allocations
- Monitor and challenge operational spend against budgets
- Analyse cost variances and provide meaningful management insights
- Support monthly reporting, audits, and financial close processes
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounts payable and creditors team
- Partner with business units to improve cost discipline and financial performance
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education:- CA(SA), CIMA, or
- BCom Honours with strong costing and accounts payable experience
- Strong cost and management accounting experience
- Extensive accounts payable and creditors experience
- Experience owning and managing a large cost base
- Experience within logistics, distribution, manufacturing, supply chain, or similar operational environments advantageous
- Previous team leadership experience advantageous
- Exposure to high-volume transactional environments
