This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established renewable energy entity that forms part of a globally recognised energy group. The organisation operates within South Africa’s power generation landscape, supplying electricity under a long-term power purchase agreement and supported by a strong, diversified shareholder base.
The successful candidate will step into a senior, technically demanding finance role, responsible for end-to-end financial reporting, IFRS compliance, tax and statutory submissions, and stakeholder reporting. You will work closely with executive management, group finance, and external stakeholders while ensuring strong internal controls, accurate reporting, and financial integrity across the entity.
This role offers exposure to complex reporting structures, long-term commercial contracts, and best-in-class governance suited to a CA(SA) looking to deepen technical expertise within a stable, multinational energy environment.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in line with IFRS and statutory requirements
- Prepare management accounts, variance analyses, budgets, forecasts, and medium-term plans
- Oversee IFRS and IFRIC 12 models, ensuring integrity and alignment with business drivers
- Manage audits, annual financial statements, and liaison with auditors and regulators
- Ensure tax, VAT, PAYE, and statutory compliance, including SARS submissions
- Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and bank reconciliations
- Support stakeholder reporting, including shareholders, lenders, and group finance
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education:- CA(SA) is essential
- Articles completed at a Big 4 audit firm
Experience:- Minimum 5 years post-articles experience
- Strong technical IFRS experience, with IFRIC 12 being advantageous
- Experience within infrastructure, energy, or structured finance environments beneficial
Skills:- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Great Plains, or SAP
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capability
