Job Summary
This is a hands-on, cockpit-level CFO role for a seasoned finance leader who can navigate complexity, steer strategy and land growth initiatives smoothly. Finance here is not a back-office function; it’s a core driver of performance, risk management and long-term value.
As the Cluster CFO, you’ll act as the CEO’s right-hand navigator, balancing risk, reward, regulation and results across a diverse, multi-entity portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with the CEO and executive team on business strategy and decision-making
- Identify financial, operational and strategic risks before they impact performance
- Lead and support M&A activity, from deal evaluation through to post-merger integration
- Oversee legal, statutory and regulatory compliance across multiple entities
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and risk management frameworks
- Lead internal and external audits
- Oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Drive working capital optimisation and cash flow management
- Manage taxation, governance and consolidated financial reporting across the group
- Lead, mentor and develop senior finance leadership teams
Who Belongs in This Seat:
- CA(SA) qualified (non-negotiable)
- 10–12 years’ experience in financial management, with 5+ years at executive level
- Proven track record leading at Board and Exco level
- Strong experience within the services industry (non-negotiable)
- Demonstrated M&A exposure and integration experience
- Deep understanding of multi-entity, consolidated group reporting
- Commercially sharp, decisive and influential; not just technically strong
