The Bookkeeper is a vital member of the finance team, taking on significant responsibility in maintaining accurate financial records across multiple divisions, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legislation.
What You'll Do:
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
Support the consolidation and analysis of financial results across four divisions, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
Prepare and maintain detailed supporting schedules, reconciliations, and working papers for review.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data, including month-end and accrual reconciliations.
Ensure all documentation aligns with audit standards and is prepared for external and internal reviews.
Review expense postings, allocations, and classifications, highlighting variances or unusual movements.
Support operational finance tasks such as stock and inventory finance, and process ad hoc payments with proper documentation.
Maintain structured financial records, support process automation initiatives, and assist with SOP development to improve efficiency.
Liaise with financial controllers and other stakeholders to gather required inputs and provide backup support during peak periods.
Requirements:
3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance roles.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and reconcile data accurately.
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial analysis and reconciliation processes.
Experience working within ERP and reporting systems.
Knowledge of industry practices in Retail or Wholesale sectors is advantageous.
High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
