Our client is seeking to employ a Family Office Group Accountant / Financial Controller to drive financial excellence, ensure compliance, and enhance our reporting and automation capabilities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic and diverse environment. The group of entities includes small-scale farming operations, small restaurant, property portfolios, and investment entities.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement financial processes and systems to drive efficiency, consistency, and control across all entities
Deliver accurate and insightful financial reporting, with a strong focus on costing analysis, performance tracking, and strategic input
Lead ad hoc financial projects from inception to completion
Drive the migration to enhanced reporting and dashboard platforms to support timely, data-driven decisions
Oversee and maintain asset registers and stock control systems
Provide technical guidance and research on IFRS, tax legislation, and other compliance matters
Identify, evaluate, and implement technology and automation solutions to streamline finance and reporting functions
This role will involve traveling between different sites within South Africa as needed
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with completed articles
Professional certification (e.g., SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA or CPA) advantageous
Proven ability to design and implement systems and reporting tools
Sound knowledge of financial controls and tax laws
A passion for problem-solving, technology, automation, and continuous process improvement
Strong initiative and ability to work independently across multiple disciplines
Xero experience essential
Odyssey Point of sale experience advantageous
Valid Drivers Licence and willingness to travel
Fluent in Afrikaans and English
