Overview:
Our client is seeking an Accountant to join their team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing financial information to support the business.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain accurate financial records
Ensure compliance with financial regulations
Provide financial information to support the business
Process new tenancy agreements including deposits and rental collections
Maintain deposit registers and administer refund processes
Prepare and load payment batches for approval and release
Manage monthly rental collections and fee processing
Facilitate timely release of rental payments to landlords
Prepare and submit VAT and PAYE returns
Manage VAT audits and assessments
Complete EMP501 reconciliations and statutory submissions
Process and maintain accounting records up to trial balance using Xero
Perform cashbook and petty cash reconciliations
Prepare and post general ledger journals
Maintain fixed asset registers and calculate depreciation
Manage and reconcile loan accounts
Review income statements and balance sheets
Process monthly payroll and generate employee payslips
Liaise with clients and stakeholders
Maintain employee leave records
Prepare employment offers, contracts, and onboarding documents
Requirements:
Grade 12 / Matric
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5 – 10 years' accounting experience.
Property Management or Rental industry experience (advantageous)
Experience processing accounts to Trial Balance.
Strong reconciliation and journal processing skills.
Knowledge of VAT, PAYE, and EMP501 submissions.
Proficiency in Xero or similar financial systems
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
