Job Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join their Finance team in East London. This role is ideal for a qualified accounting professional with completed articles who is looking to build their career within a well-established manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post standard journals for monthly management accounts.
Manage foreign creditors and import documentation.
Assist with creditors administration as required.
Prepare and reconcile VAT returns.
Confirm inter-company balances with other branches.
Prepare tax packs and upload documentation to OneSource.
Prepare SMART packs and upload monthly financial statements to Hyperion.
Reconcile all general ledger accounts using Microsoft Excel by the 10th working day of each month.
Compile monthly waste reports.
Prepare treasury schedules.
Coordinate and submit capital expenditure (CAPEX) requests.
Assist with internal and external audit processes.
Upload annual budgets and quarterly forecasts onto Hyperion.
Prepare statutory notes on Hyperion.
Perform additional finance-related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
BCom Degree or BTech in Financial Accounting.
Completed SAICA or relevant accounting articles.
AGA (SA) registration through SAICA or a CIMA qualification will be advantageous.
Strong IT proficiency, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Valid driver's licence.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively within a team.
