Job Summary
TopFresh is a fruit export company situated in Durbanville, Cape Town. The company procures and distributes fresh fruit from growers to clients on a global scale, with most of their exports going to markets in Africa, the Indian Ocean Islands, the Middle East and Europe. The above-mentioned position is currently available for a dynamic negotiator to join the Commercial Department. The successful incumbent will take responsibility for the effective sourcing, procuring, selling and delivering of designated fruit to clients.
Key Performance Areas:
- Procure and sell designated fruit
- Arrange shipment of orders
- Find and exploit trading opportunities and grow client base
- Identify, assess, and manage risks
- Initiate claims processes
- Exchange information and work with other Accounts Executives
- Build and maintain supplier / client relationships
- Achieve sales budget and gross margin objectives
- Attend meetings and report as required
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualification (diploma or degree)
- 1-3 years’ experience in procurement and trading of fruit
- Working knowledge of relevant fruit markets
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with role players
- Ability to closely follow policies and procedures
- Negotiation skills and ability to deal with conflict
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally
- Good computer skills (MS Office suite and shipping programs such as QX)
- Driver’s licence and own transport
