Job Summary
Our client in the financial advisory and healthcare solutions industry based is seeking to employ a Finance Assistant to join their team based in Kloof, Durban.
Provide financial administrative support, including managing debtors and creditors, reconciliations, VAT, banking, management accounts assistance, and audit preparation, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance within the finance function.
Requirements:
- Accounting certification or a relevant degree would be advantageous.
- Accuracy and diligence.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Computer proficiency in Sage One Cloud Accounting & Sage Intacct.
- Experience in Outlook, Teams and general Office 365.
- Advanced is Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities:
Debtors / Creditors
- Raising monthly and ad-hoc invoices.
- Managing full debtors’ cycle in Sage from invoicing to receipt.
- Debtors’ reconciliations.
- Age analysis reconciliations.
- Matching quotes / orders / authorisations to goods / services received / budgets.
- Verifying invoices to the above.
- VAT compliance.
- New supplier banking confirmations.
- Managing full creditors cycle in Sage from ordering to payment.
- Creditors reconciliations.
- Age Analysis reconciliations.
Intercompany / Staff reimbursements and Banking
- Raising and capturing of invoices.
- Intercompany account reconciliations.
- Review and reconcile to receipts/invoices monthly.
- Verify authorisations.
- Capture and allocate to correct expense accounts.
- Allocating of bank transactions in Sage.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Payments schedules month end and ad-hoc payments.
Management Accounts / Audits
- General ledger reconciliations.
- Preparation of accruals, prepayments and other related journals.
- Monthly detailed analysis of expenses versus budget.
- Assistance in preparation of budgets.
- Vat201 review and reconciliation for Management Accountant.
- Prepare schedules as required for audit purposes.
- Maintain physical and electronic filing system of all documents.
- Maintain register.
- Monthly review and amendments.
Office Contribution
- Assisting and mentoring of other Finance Assistants.
- Assisting with reception on a rotational basis.
