Job Overview
K2 Recruit is seeking a qualified, highly motivated, and experienced Tax Consultant on behalf of a well-established Financial Services organisation with a substantial client base of High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs) and Private Clients.
This role is suited to a tax professional with strong South African tax compliance experience, particularly in individual taxation, SARS engagement, and foreign tax clearance processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the day-to-day tax requirements of clients, while also supporting the growth and development of the tax advisory function within the business.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of South African tax legislation, practical experience working with SARS eFiling, and exposure to tax emigration administration and foreign tax clearance applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Calculate provisional tax payments and complete IRP6 provisional tax returns.
- Liaise with SARS on behalf of clients and manage applications for foreign tax clearance.
- Prepare and submit individual income tax returns via SARS eFiling.
- Manage financial emigration administration and related tax compliance processes.
- Review SARS assessments, calculate taxable income, and determine estimated tax liabilities or refunds.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes to the Income Tax Act, SARS legislation, and updates to SARS eFiling systems.
- Identify opportunities to expand and improve tax service offerings within the department.
- Review operational procedures to ensure compliance with South African tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Implement improved policies and processes for collecting and managing tax-related information from clients.
- Provide leadership and support to junior staff, contributing to the growth and effectiveness of the tax function.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Registered Tax Practitioner
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in Tax Compliance, preferably within a financial services or advisory environment
- Demonstrated experience liaising directly with SARS
- Strong technical understanding of Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, and other SARS regulatory frameworks
- Registered member of SAIT (South African Institute of Taxation)
