An opportunity exists for a young and energetic candidate with a sound financial background to form part of the finance team who will oversee and manage the team, design and implement controls to ensure good financial practices have complied with and are in place, to assist the Business Chairman (owner) and Finance Executive with accurate and timeous financial and business intelligence related information to help with the executive team to make sound strategic and business decision to grow and expand into new business ventures. The business operates predominantly within the property rental/ property development environment as well as certain aspects relating to financial reporting and managing of the owner’s personal affairs which vests within his Trust holding entity.
Through one of the Chairman’s Trust Entities, we have launched a Venture Capital Company called Club Resco where we want to provide housing solutions to young up-and-coming working professionals who are just about to start their careers and require affordable accommodation close to the City of Cape Town business hub. The business has been operational for about 6 years now and we are busy setting up a new and stronger finance team to assist the executive team in the reporting and providing of financial intelligence in order to grow and invest in alternative opportunities aligned with the Club Resco business principle.
The candidate’s main responsibility will be the providing of financial management support and financial advice to the key stakeholders of Club Resco Group to assist with sound business decision-making. Assume the primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, managing, and controlling the finance team and finance-related activities within Club Resco Group and other ad-hoc tasks which may be allocated relating to the Chairman’s financial affairs. Ensures financial practices and information are in line with company policy and all statutory legislation & regulations.

Oversee and manage of finance team (rental administrator/ creditors and debtors clerk)
Design and implement of sound financial controls to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information
Conduct analytical procedures to understand drivers behind actual and budgeted financial figures and provide reasons behind variances
Ensure month-end files are complete and accurate for audit purposes (balance sheet recons/ debtors and creditor recon/ VAT recons/ GL to PayProp Recon)
Complete and submission of monthly VAT201 on E-filling
Cashflow reporting and management
Business Intelligence Reporting (Vacancy List/ Property Marketing List/ Lease Expiration Lists)
Assist Finance Executive with completion and reporting of annual budgets and forecast
Assist with review of payments loaded by the Creditors Clerk
Preparing annual audit files and assisting auditors with audit-related queries
Ad-hoc deliverables to assist Chairman with personal financial affairs relating to his Trust Entity
Grade 12 or equivalent is essential
Relevant Finance qualification
SAIPA completed articles (1-2 years post articles)
Advanced skills in MS Office
SAGE Evolution Experience (beneficial)
PayProp Experience (beneficial)
