Job Summary
PBT Group is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Data / BI Analyst who can move beyond operational execution to proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve data-related challenges.
This role requires an individual who can translate ambiguous business concerns into structured problem statements, apply critical thinking, and drive data quality and process improvements across systems and teams.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Problem Solving
- Analyse and investigate data-related issues across systems and processes
- Break down ambiguous problems into structured, testable hypotheses
- Identify root causes of data issues rather than addressing surface-level symptoms
- Apply analytical thinking to assess data quality, consistency, and reliability
Strategic Thinking & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate upstream and downstream impacts of data processes and systems
- Identify process, system, and behavioural drivers of data issues
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance data integrity and efficiency
- Prioritise issues based on risk, business impact, and recurrence
Business Engagement & Communication
- Translate business challenges into data-driven insights and actionable solutions
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Provide meaningful storytelling around data issues and their business impact
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and solutions
Data Quality & Governance (Advantageous)
- Apply data quality principles such as completeness, validity, and consistency
- Contribute to improving data governance and quality frameworks where applicable
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant degree or diploma in IT, Data, Analytics, or related field
- 3–7+ years’ experience in a data-focused role (Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Data Engineer)
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills
- Experience working with large datasets and data pipelines
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Ability to distinguish between root causes and symptoms
- Understanding of upstream vs downstream data flows
- Experience working with data pipelines, reporting, and business processes
- Ability to structure ambiguous problems into clear solutions
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

- Experience in financial services or complex enterprise environments
