Job Summary
Our client, a well-established organisation within the manufacturing sector, is seeking to appoint an experienced Branch Financial Accountant to join their team based in Kraaifontein Industria, Cape Town.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to play a key role in branch financial management, operational support, and performance reporting, contributing directly to the success and growth of the business.
Requirements
- BCom Degree in Accounting or similar
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
- Experience in commercial or dealership environments advantageous
- Valid Code 8 driver’s licence
- Strong understanding of general ledger, trial balance, and reconciliations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Professional, proactive, and team-oriented approach
Responsibilities
Banking and Cash Management
- Process daily bank transactions and perform reconciliations
- Manage online banking payments
- Handle petty cash and receipts
- Reconcile COD accounts and prepare payment documentation
Creditors and Debtors
- Process supplier invoices and reconcile creditor accounts
- Ensure timely payments to creditors
- Monitor debtor accounts and follow up on outstanding balances
- Resolve customer queries and send monthly statements
Workshop, WIP and Warranty
- Monitor WIP and warranty processes
- Liaise with workshop teams for accurate reporting
- Prepare daily workshop productivity reports
Financial Reporting
- Prepare income statements and balance sheets
- Maintain trial balance accuracy
- Perform general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare management and departmental reports
Assets and Compliance
- Maintain fixed asset register and capex tracking
- Prepare internal account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with company policies and controls
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
Business Support
- Engage with department managers on financial performance
- Provide financial insights and reporting support
- Assist with budgeting and ad-hoc financial tasks
- Contribute to process improvements and team development
