WatersEdge Solutions is searching for a driven and strategic Account Executive (Mid-Level) to join a dynamic team driving growth and innovation in data commercialisation. This role is ideal for a commercially astute relationship-builder who thrives in fast-paced, high-impact environments. You’ll play a key part in managing client relationships, identifying revenue opportunities, and delivering tailored solutions across diverse sectors.
About the Role
As an Account Executive, you'll contribute to the overall sales strategy, manage a portfolio of key accounts, and ensure smooth sales operations from prospecting to closing. Your responsibilities will span client engagement, sales cycle management, risk mitigation, and working closely with cross-functional teams to align on delivery and compliance. Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
Manage data buyer relationships and liaise with data sellers monetising their data assets
Own and grow a portfolio of key accounts across finance, insurance, healthcare, retail, and telco
Serve as the lead commercial contact, building deep relationships with cross-functional client stakeholders
Resolve client data-related issues and collaborate with support, product, and tech teams to ensure satisfaction
Account Growth & Retention
Drive account retention and timely renewals through strategic planning and demonstrated platform value
Proactively identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities
Lead end-to-end sales cycles: budgeting, contracting, proposal delivery, negotiation, and closure
Strategic Alignment & Use Case Expansion
Develop and execute strategic account plans and roadmaps
Conduct regular review sessions to ensure alignment with client goals
Collaborate with internal teams to champion client needs and use case development
Pipeline & Performance Management
Deliver accurate sales forecasts and maintain CRM records
Achieve KPAs and KPIs aligned with role objectives
Compliance-Focused Advisory
Identify and mitigate account risks in line with compliance standards
Guide clients on data privacy and governance practices including POPIA and ISO 27001
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree with 5–10 years of B2B account management or client success experience
Proven success in managing mid-to-enterprise accounts with multiple stakeholders
Experience in SaaS, data sales, or consulting environments
Strong sales performance history and customer satisfaction track record
