ABOUT POSITION: A hospitality group based in Bryanston, Johannesburg is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant to manage and oversee all financial accounting, reporting, compliance, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills and a solid understanding of hospitality financial operations, supporting accurate reporting and effective business decision-making. REQUIREMENTS: * RSA ID and legal residence essential * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field * Professional qualification or studying toward SAIPA, SAICA, or ACCA (advantage) * Minimum 2–4 years accounting experience (hospitality experience preferred) * Strong knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS * Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations) * Experience with accounting systems (Pastel, Sage) and hospitality systems (Opera, Micros, GAAP, etc.) * Strong attention to detail and accuracy * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) * Perform month-end processes including journals, accruals, and reconciliations * Maintain general ledger accuracy and financial integrity * Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions * Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow * Verify and analyse revenue streams across departments (rooms, F&B, events) * Monitor cost of sales, stock movements, and support stock takes * Prepare VAT calculations and ensure regulatory compliance * Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes * Liaise with auditors and support audit requirements * Ensure strong internal controls and adherence to financial policies * Maintain data integrity across financial and operational systems
